Solidago flexicaulis is a Wisconsin Native perennial forb and occurs almost throughout the central and eastern US. From late summer into fall, the plants are topped with elongated yellow flower clusters. Smaller flower clusters “zigzag” along the lower stems, giving this plant its common name. Tough and adaptable, Zigzag Goldenrod can be found growing in part sun or part shade and in moist, well-drained soil in rich, deciduous woods, wooded east and north facing slopes, woodland edges, and wooded stream banks.  It attracts birds, bees, and butterflies!

A Native, Naturally! Forb, it prefers part shade to full shade in average, moist to well-drained soil. (PHOTOS COURTESY OF PRAIRIE NURSERY, WI)
